Twenty-three art quilts will be on exhibit November 10 through December 10, 2004 at the Northview Gallery of Portland Community College’s Sylvania Campus Branch, CT Building, 12000 SW 49th Avenue, Portland, OR 97219. The exhibition, “New Dimensions in Fiber,” features the work of 16 northwest artists, all members of the Contemporary QuiltArt Association of Seattle. Also included in the exhibition are art quilts by the two CQA jurors, Giselle Blythe of Seattle and Sally Sellers of Vancouver, WA.
An artists’ reception will be held on Wednesday, November 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The reception will include a panel discussion by six CQA members, all of whom have art quilts in the exhibition. Regular hours for “New Dimensions in Fiber” are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment, 503-977-8017. Admission is free.
The Contemporary QuiltArt Association is an arts organization which sponsors and promotes the professional endeavors of artists working in the quilt medium. The association seeks to educate the public about this art form.
